Why is Kindness the Solution?

Kindness truly is the Solution to every problem we face individually and collectively at home, school, work, online, in our communities, our country, and our world. Begin to look at every aspect of your life through the lens of kindness and see how this transforms your experience of everything you do.
Kindness starts…

1. At Home

Kindness always starts with how we treat ourselves and then extends to the people around us.

Kindness Toward Our Minds

This encompasses the thoughts we think, the rest we give our brains from the incessant digital culture we live in through rest and meditation, and our belief in our ability to create the life we envision for ourselves.

Kindness Toward Our Bodies

This includes the nutrition we fuel our body with, the movement we give to it, complemented with a consistent good night’s sleep, and the proactive self-care we give to ourselves to feel vital and healthy from the inside out.

Kindness Toward Our Spirit

Give yourself permission to do the things that fire you up and make your heart happy! Fuel your passion and your soul soars.

Kindness in Our Families

Let’s face it, the people we love the most often are on the receiving end of our worst behavior. Kindness always starts at home with the people who push our buttons! Parents can model kindness with each other and within the family to create meaningful rituals to stay connected at home in this busy, lightning paced, digital world we live in. We can show our kids how to look for opportunities to be kind in our daily rounds and look for the good in others wherever we are and whatever we are doing.

2. At School

Teachers and administrators can easily implement a “Kindness Program” in every school that fosters empathy, emotional intelligence, compassion, courage and acceptance, by teaching leadership through kindness in schools, nation and worldwide.  Our goal is to have these topics as core parts of the curriculum at the elementary, middle, and high school levels.

3. At Work

Kindness in the Workplace is not some New Age, feel good hyperbole. It’s high time we leverage science, data, and technology to help companies foster respect, diversity, integrity, and wellness into their cultures, which undeniably leads to productivity and retention of happy and healthy employees.

Hiding behind a phone or computer screen saying things that are hurtful and harmful is cowardly and unacceptable. Let’s use technology for good by promoting digital citizenship amongst all human beings, young and old.

5. Community

There are so many amazing people that make our communities the amazing places they are. These include our favorite stores and businesses that we frequent, our local fire, police and town departments, and our social services, mental health facilities, addiction treatment centers, homeless shelters, and food pantries. They are made up of heart-centered, dedicated employees and volunteers committed to making an impact, by providing an exceptional product or service, alleviating suffering, and healing the hearts, minds, and bodies of our friends and neighbors.

6. Making all of your decisions from a place of Consciousness & Compassion.

This directly relates to our experiences with other humans, animals, & the environment, and it includes the food we buy, the personal products we use, and the businesses we chose to give our money to.

7. Learning to be an Advocate for yourself, as well as the causes and social issues that affect or concern you.

In order to solve the problems that upset, anger and/or sadden us we need to stand up, use our voices and take action. We need to encourage and uplift others. We must decide to become the leaders that this world needs in order to put a stop to the things that we find unjust, and in order to help those who are suffering or marginalized. Each and every one of us can make an impact.

The mission of The Kindness Solution is a movement to promote radical kindness toward ourselves, all living beings, and our earth.

Are you ready to develop a deep, intimate relationship with yourself in order to connect with your personal truth? Do you desire to have the courage and conviction to stand in your truth? If you answered yes to either of those questions, than I hope you’ll join me on this journey. Be a part of #thekindnesssolution movement towards radical kindness using the  inspiration, resources, and more provided in The Journal.
